Doing Justice in the World >

The ELCA's Corporate Social Responsibility program unit invites you to join with millions of people around the world in a Trade Week of Action October 14-21, to call for justice in global trade. Trade justice is about basic human rights for people who work to produce the goods on which the rest of the world depends. A resource guide offers ideas for action, Biblical resources and information about the various aspects of justice involved in making trade fair.

Lutheran World Federation Sunday, October 7 >

The Lutheran World Federation celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Begun at the end of WWII – Lutherans gathered around the table to organize care for the thousands of refugees in post-war Europe. Now, 60 years later, with 66 million members, the LWF is still providing care for refugees, and in fact, it is the UN’s second largest partner in global refugee care. They act on behalf of the 140 member churches in areas of common interest such as humanitarian assistance, human rights, inter-faith relationships, theology, mission and development. The LWF is how we "hold hands" with Lutherans around the world as we come together to pray, study, seek solutions for a hurting world and share our joys and sorrows.

More information and resources for the 2007 LWF Sunday are online at http://www.elca.org/lwf/LWF_Sunday07.html.
