Expectations of Coaches for NCD

Expectations of the Leadership/Congregation:

To be fully committed to the NCD Process
To fill out the Congregational Application
To raise up committed leaders for the Health Team & survey participants
To fully engage in the learning, training, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating of NCD
To give priority to attending all scheduled meetings relating to the NCD process
To initiate contact with the coach as needed; don’t just wait for the coach to call!
To cover all fees associated with the NCD process.

Role/Expectations of NCD Coaches:

Role of NCD Coach: to partner with God and a congregation that has covenanted to utilize the NCD process to examine its ministry in the name of Christ focusing on increasing the ministry’s effectiveness.
Approximately five/six face-to-face visits with the congregation:
Introduction of NCD to the leadership (could be done by any coach)
Train the Congregational Health Team
Facilitate discussion/understanding of the survey results for the leadership
Lead Health Team through a Training Workshop for Action Planning
Receive and facilitate discussion of the congregational goals from the Action Planning
Workshop with the Health Team/leaders.
Check in on the implementation of the Action Plan to ensure accountability
Review: Following the implementation of the Action Plan in the congregation, assist the Health Team/leadership in evaluating the impact of the NCD process
Ensure and encourage multiple communications of the overall outcomes with the congregation.
Evaluate and Re-establish the NCD Cycle; (discern if you will be their coach again)
Approx 12 to 15 hours of time plus travel
Phone conversations as needed

NCD Fees:

$100.00 check made out to the Florida-Bahamas Synod when the application is submitted

$300.00 honorarium for the NCD Coach plus mileage reimbursement at government rate
$300.00 check made out to the ELCA when the surveys are purchased (this covers the cost of two surveys & scorings: the beginning survey and the ending evaluation survey that can also kick off another NCD cycle.) (Cycle two & beyond only have a $150 survey fee.)
