AngladaD

Dear Pastors, Rostered and Congregational Lay Leaders,

It is with great joy that I announce that the Rev. Angel-David Anglada has accepted the call to serve as the Director of Evangelical Mission (DEM) within the Florida-Bahamas Synod! He will begin his ministry with us on Monday, December 6th and will have his office in the synod house in Tampa.

The Directors of Evangelical Mission serve as both deployed churchwide staff of the Evangelical Outreach and Congregation Mission (EOCM) unit and as assistants to the bishops of the synods where they serve. Pr Anglada will work closely with me on all matters related to synodical missional strategies including new starts, redevelopments, missional table conversations, and the Together in Mission vision and funding initiative. He will provide support and supervision of mission developers and redevelopers.

Pr. Anglada has significant ability and experience in ministry development in situations of diverse cultural, ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. We have placed a high priority on outreach and ministry with and among the growing Latino and Hispanic communities of this synod. Pr. Anglada is fluent in Spanish and English.

Pr. Anglada comes to this synod from the Metro New York Synod where he presently serves as a spiritual care counselor with Hospice and as vacancy pastor of the Lutheran Church of the Epiphany in Hempstead, NY. From 1999-2008, Pr. Anglada served as the Assistant to the Bishop for Evangelical Outreach of the Metro NY Synod working on the staff of former bishop Steve Bouman.

Please welcome Pr. Anglada into your hearts and ministries as you have so graciously received me and other staff members of the Office of the Bishop. We will announce the plans for his installation service when this information is determined.

God’s blessings to you as you serve the Lord in your various callings and situations.

In Christ and His Love,
Edward R. Benoway, Bishop
Florida-Bahamas Synod, ELCA
