Receptionist
PERSONNEL POLICIES STATEMENT: The employees of this church, in
all of their services—both within the congregation and in the fulfillment of the
Church's mission in the world—shall carry out the duties to which they are
assigned in faithfulness to the faith and mission of the Evangelical Lutheran
Church in America.
TITLE: Receptionist
REPORTS TO: Administrative Assistant, Business Manager, Pastor
POSITION SUMMARY
The Receptionist welcomes and greets people who come into or telephone the
parish office.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Welcomes and greets people who come into the parish office.
2. Answers phones, takes messages and/or refers callers to appropriate person.
3. Registers new congregational members.
4. Assists with copy work and trains others how to use office/clerical
equipment.
5. Provides typing services, handles general correspondence and clerical
support.
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Good interpersonal communication skills (verbal and written).
2. Experience working with the general public.
3. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
4. Good typing skills.
5. Basic knowledge of how a parish office operates.
