2009 Lutheran World Relief Totals PDF Print E-mail

Dear Sisters in Christ,

As promised, here are the 2009 totals for the LWR pick up stations in February.  We exceeded last year’s totals by 1,800 lbs.  This is especially joyful in light of the increased need for items in the world AND that with the economy, many charities are hurting due to decreased contributions.  Please let all of your ladies know at your spring gatherings what a wonderful ministry this is and congratulate them again on their generosity.  Truly the spirit of our Lord is present in this Synod.

The spreadsheet of Unit Contributions has two pages for 2009.  One is sorted by Conference and the other is sorted by church and city.  If a church is in the wrong conference, please let me know since this has been a learning experience for me!  A third page is included that shows a year by year comparison from 1997 to present.

Photos from Barbara Cilik show some of the volunteers for this project from St. John’s in Winter Park.  It’s wonderful to see some of the faces of those that work behind the scenes!
