Erik Thone of People of Faith Lutheran Church in Orlando tells about a new a new ministry aided by a grant from Together in Mission.
The Reverend Thomas R. Anderson was called to the Church Triumphant at the age of 85 on January 29, 2013.
Pastor Anderson was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, graduated from St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota, in 1950 and from Luther Seminary in 1957. He was ordained in 1957 and served in Minnesota Lutheran churches in Zumbrota, Waseca, Minneapolis and Rochester until his retirement in 1992.
Pastor Anderson served as Interim Pastor twice at Messiah Lutheran Church, Cape Coral, and he and Miriam, his wife of 59 years, continued to attend services at Messiah during their winter visits.
In addition to Miriam, Pastor Thomas is survived by his two sons, three daughters, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 9 at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Rochester, Minnesota.
