Lenten Visits
bishops-crestOn February 17, we join Christians around the world on our annual 40 day Lenten journey beginning with ashes reminding us of our mortality and leading to the waters of new birth and resurrection on Easter. Lent is a time to renew our life together in Christ.
Rostered Leaders are invited to participate in one of four Lenten Visitation events scheduled in 2010. There are no workshops for laity planned this year in conjunction with the Lenten Visitation Services.

Thank you to the pastors and people of the following congregations who have opened their facilities to us for these special gatherings from 9:30am to 12:00pm (click the link for a map):
Schuedule:
  • 9:30 AM - We will gather for a continental breakfast together followed by some time for shared conversation about the work and state of our synod, including Together in Mission
  • 11:00 AM - we will celebrate the Bishop’s Chrism Eucharist. This service has its roots in the early church as an annual time for pastors to gather with the bishop to bless the oils used at baptism and with the sick, and share worship together.
This event is free of charge, however, registration is strongly encouraged. Click here to register.

Following each visit, we will convene all of the Deans and Interim Pastors present at the event for lunch and some additional time together. This gathering should conclude by 2:30pm.
