Youth Day Camp!
at the 2008 Synod Assembly
“God’s Work. Kids’ Hands!!!”
For all kids in grades K-8
What an exciting
time we will have as we discover together how God uses us to do His work in the
world! We will sing, share, learn from the Bible, make some great
take-home projects, and have lots of fun working together on this adventure
as God uses our hands and our hearts to share His love in amazing ways!
Want to praise the Lord with your hands? We will do that!
Want to help those in need? We will do that!
Want to work in Jesus' Name in our
community?
We will do that!
It doesn't matter how big or
little your hands are-God can use them-and
YOU!
How will we praise the Lord with our hands?
Like the children who came to Jesus, we’ll work on a worship project—a banner or instruments and some songs to sing at closing worship!
Like
the boy with the fish and loaves,
we’ll make bread to be used for the closing
Eucharist.
How will we help those in need?
Like
Jairus’ daughter, we’ll reach
out to the sick/homeless/needy in the community by
making Care Kits!
Like
Samuel, the boy who responded to
God’s call through prayer, we’ll make
several prayer bracelets—one to keep, others to share with assembly
guests!
How will we work in Jesus' Name in our community?
Like
David and Goliath—little hands can do
BIG things—we’ll have a beach cleanup and then have some fun playing
on a cleaner, “greener” beach!
All of these
activities are being coordinated and led by Pastor Jennifer Schaefer and her
team of volunteers, and will be centered in prayer and include Bible readings,
songs, and crafts.
So….. plan to join us! Together,
let's make some new friends and join our hands to do God's work in the world!
