Every year, the people of the Florida-Bahamas Synod gather to
worship, fellowship, and conduct the business of the synod. The assembly
consists of representatives from every ELCA congregation in the synod who are
appointed or elected by their home congregation to be the voice of their parish,
as well as rostered lay and ordained persons, the synod bishop, synod staff,
ELCA churchwide representatives, ecumenical officers, and visitors and guests.
Business includes the synod budget, memorials to the ELCA
Churchwide Assembly (every two years), recognition of special events and
programs, and resolutions brought by individual congregations for discussion and
action by the assembly.
