Synod wide youth retreat May 16-18,
2008. The theme for this retreat is taken from Ephesians 2:8: “For
by grace you have been saved through faith…” How will you respond?
Encouraging Excellence. Several tracks will be offered during the event,
each designed to challenge youth to grow in faith, identify areas in which they
excel in serving God, and encourage them to take ownership of their faith

Region 9 event geared toward theological
and biblical study. Students nominated by local congregation and then
selected by Region 9 Committee. Southern Seminary. June 14-21, 2008
Twelve youth from the Florida-Bahamas Synod will join
28 youth from across Region 9, in Puerto Rico where they will live with a
host family, experience the culture of Puerto Rico, learn of the great
natural resources in and around the area, and serve alongside the youth of
Puerto Rico in servant projects. December 26, 2007 – January 2, 2008.

Opportunities for high school students to visit college
campuses.
“Affirming Our Faith: Rooted in Christ and
Growing.” Word of Life Retreat Center in Hudson, FL October 3-5,
2008.
Our keynote speakers and musicians will Smallfish and the
weekend will include music, large and small group activities, meeting other
middle school youth from all over the synod, and lots of surprises. Affirming
our Faith: Rooted in Christ and Growing is based on John 15:1-17 where Jesus
talks about being the vine and we are the branches. The weekend is shaping up to
be an awesome time of getting to know who Christ is, being connected with Him
and growing in our faith in Him. Congregations will be receiving more
information about the event, a poster, and registration forms by mid July;
information will also be available on the synod web site. Early Bird
Registration for “Affirming Our Faith” ends on August 23rd ($125.00); late
registration fee will be $135.00 between August 24th – September 19th.
Registrations after that are not guaranteed, but will be filled if space is
available. Space is limited this year, so plan ahead and register your youth

National Council of Churches of Christ USA - Young Stewards Program
The Stewards Program offers a unique opportunity
for young adults, ages 18-30, to encounter one aspect of the ecumenical movement
from the inside. Ecumenical formation involves learning ecumenical theology and
sharing the excitement and joy of worship and fellowship with others in the
ecumenical movement. NCC/CWS invites stewards to the General Assembly to serve
in the background and to observe up close the deliberative work of ecumenism.
